A significant portion of Ontario has officially started the next stage of the government’s COVID-19 pandemic plan to restart the economy.
Stage three will start in 24 out of the 34 public health systems. Although some of the busier jurisdictions will continue to follow Stage 2 regulations, the government informed the public that Stage 3 regulations would allow the reopening of bars, gyms, restaurants, and cinemas.
Stage 3 regulations raised the maximum amount of people allowed for a social gathering to 50 and social groups outdoors to 100. Premier Doug Ford spoke at a news conference in Chatham. He said, “All of Ontario is now on the path to recovery. I won’t stop until every person, every worker, every community, and every farmer in Ontario is back on their feet.”
