After the win last night over the Montreal Canadiens, the Lightning took the series 4-1 to become back-to-back Stanley Cup champions. The NHL commissioner called over the entire Tampa team to touch, kiss, and hoist the Stanley Cup. It was a moment where everyone forgot about the pandemic and just felt pure joy. This exceptional team led by their captain Steven Stamkos managed to win their second championship in 10 months.

But this win was much different because this one actually had spectators. Their championship win last year had zero in-person fans watching due to the world being in the early stages of the pandemic. Now that vaccinations have been rolling out, the Lightning was able to share this special moment with 18.110 screaming fans.

When the game finished pyrotechnics went off throughout the arena to celebrate the victory. Players took turns skating and hoisting the Cup, they took videos on their phones, confetti was shot into the air, as they were able to truly celebrate this year.
