Despite Tiger Woods suffering a severe leg injury from a car crash a while ago, he teed off in the Masters on Thursday. He said the leg injury was so bad that doctors raised the prospect of amputation. After a long nine months out of the public eye, Woods posted a video of himself swinging a club in November.
Under the video was a caption that said “Making progress.” Now he is at the Augusta National, making a Monday practice round, walking the steep slopes, swinging well, and making it clear he still wants to compete. During a press conference Woods said “I do.” when being asked does he think he can win?
On Tuesday he said he is planning to play and thinks he can win it all. This is despite it being 508 days since the last time he played a tournament where he had to walk. Woods is now 46 and he would be the oldest Masters champion by three weeks over Jack Nicklaus.
