The Toronto Blue Jays become the newest business or entity to mandate a COVID-19 vaccination policy at their venue. As of next month,  all fans and staff above the age of 12 must provide proof of full vaccination or a recent negative PCR test. In a statement today the club said the new policy set, will be active in the “Rogers Centre beginning September 13,”

The team also explained that any of the two approved vaccines in Canada will be accepted. If the person chooses to get a PCR test instead, it will have to be within 48 hours of the game start time. These test requirements are more strict than the federal government’s policy as returning travellers need to receive a negative test within 72 hours.

The Blue Jays have 12 more home games scheduled between September 13 and October 3. The team implementing a vaccination policy joins them with the MLSE group, numerous post-secondary education institutions, the Ontario civil service, and the City of Toronto.
