The Toronto Christmas Market in the Distillery District returns today for the first time since 2019. The Christmas market is usually an annual event but it was canceled last year due to the ongoing restrictions. The market has returned this year and will start off with a tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m.
The market will include eight new vendor cabins, 12 food vendor cabins, buskers, carollers, and live entertainment. And of course, there will be the Distillery District’s pre-existing local merchants. The organizers this year say they are now calling the venue “The Distillery Winter Village.”
The tree-lightning ceremony will require tickets on Saturday and Sundays after 4 p.m. and between December 20th and December 23rd after 4 p.m. Tickets will be sold for $8.00 per person and come with a free three-month trial of Amazon Music. The market will be free at any other time not requiring a ticket. All guests will need to show proof of vaccination as well as a government-issued identification.
