The Digital Canopy project will give 13,000 Toronto residents free internet in multiple parts of the city for up to a year.

The 1 million dollar investment aims to get internet in multiple low-income neighbourhoods, some towers have already been set up and are working for 2,000 people.

“The first Digital Canopy site is now live at 200 and 210 Woolner Avenue, enabling internet access for approximately 2,000 residents in this Rockcliffe-Smyth community,” a source says.

Other neighborhoods will be served by the end of 2020.
