Anyone aged 12 or over will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to be allowed access inside the Toronto Zoo. This new policy was announced today and applies to all guests, members, business partners, and contractors. They will need to provide proof of vaccination before entering the property.

The zoo explained that the facility does include lots of outdoor spaces for people to enjoy but there are also many indoor spaces. With the cold weather approaching, guests may want to visit the indoor spaces more frequently. The zoo wants to keep all its guests, staff, and animals safe from this virus.

In a statement, the organization said “Our decision to implement this policy is based on many factors, including our responsibility to ensure the safety and protection of our staff, our guests and our animals. As a science-based institution, we fully support evidence that vaccinations protect individuals from serious illness and COVID-19 spread.”
