Starting July 5, fully vaccinated individuals will be able to enter Canada without the mandatory quarantine. The government announced this today and said travelers must show proof of vaccination by uploading documentation to the ArriveCAN app.

The announcement comes after Canada finally hit key vaccination targets. The first target is having more than 75 percent of eligible Canadians with at least one dose, and over 20 percent with two doses.

Officials say travelers will have to electronically submit COVID-19 related information on the ArriveCAN app before arriving. The documentation must prove the traveler received a Health Canada approved vaccine at least 12 days before coming to the country.

When the traveler is approved, they will be exempted from the necessary quarantine and/or taking a COVID-19 test on day eight. Non-vaccinated children accompanying a fully vaccinated guardian will not have to stay in a hotel either.
