The vaccine rollout in Ontario is growing every week and the province says it’s on pace to administer the first shot to at least 65 percent of adults by the end of May. Health officials have recorded that the daily average number of vaccinations in the past weeks is 97,200. Yesterday, set the daily record at 141,038 doses administered.

CBC Toronto says inconsistent data from public health units may indicate the actual number may be estimated at 373,000 shots per day. This is because their reports do not include vaccine data from primary care centers, plus, the seven public health units that did not submit data.

In April, Ontario’s top doctor claimed the province would be able to give out over 500,000 shots per day with enough supply. But experts like Dr. Barry Pakes say Ontario does not have the right resources or infrastructure to dish out that many vaccines per day.
