    The Vancouver Whitecaps are headed to the Canadian Championship final after defeating York United on Wednesday. The match concluded 2-1 in favour of the Whitecaps. Striker Brian White was able to score both goals for his team on the home side. Ryan Gauld, an attacking midfielder, assisted on the second goal of the night. 

    United’s Isaiah Johnston scored in the 84th minute of the match to increase the tension. The Whitecaps goalkeeper was able to stop four of six on-target shots. 

    Vancouver will host fellow Major League Soccer side Toronto FC in the final in late July. Toronto beat Club de Foot Montreal 4-0 in the earlier semifinal on Wednesday. This will be Vancouver;s first final’s appearance since 2018.
