    Elections Canada is anticipating an increase in mail-in voting after it announced that they would run a general election even in the middle of a pandemic. 

    The federal elections agency says that to make voting safe and accessible for everyone, they need to request amendments that will allow them to have a week-long election with a two day polling period on a Saturday and Sunday instead of a one day vote that usually takes place on a Monday. 

    This would allow Elections Canada to set up more polling places in larger locations, allowing people to practice social distance safely.
