With only 1:39 of overtime played, Tyler Toffoli scored to win the game and series in a four-game sweep. This put an end to Winnipeg’s playoff run as they were defeated Monday night 3-2. Toffoli’s goal was set up by a cross-crease pass from rookie Cole Caufield and counts as his fourth post-season goal.

The other goals scored in regulation for Montreal were by Erik Gustafsson and Artturu Lehkonen. Montreal has now won 7 straight post-season games since being down 3-1 in the series with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Carey Price was able to make 14 saves in front of the rambunctious crowd of 2,500 people. The Habs win seals their team as the first club to make it to the semifinals of the Stanley Cup tournament of 2021.

Montreal now has to wait for the winner between Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights. Their series is tied 2-2 with Game 5 set to be played Tuesday in Denver. There will use the time to rest up and possibly welcome some injured players to return. The Habs were playing without defenceman Jeff Petry after his hand got caught in one of the camera holes along with the glass in Game 3.
