Retail Sales Begin to Slow dDown for Canadian Retailers

In July and August, sales drastically slowed down for Canadian retailers. 

On Friday, Statistics Canada said that in July, sales grew 0.6 per cent, as opposed to 23 per cent in June and 21 per cent in May. 

Brett House, a Scotiabank economist, said, “All in all, the numbers imply that retail activity is normalizing after the whipsaw of a huge downturn and recovery.”
