WestJet announces a ‘zero-tolerance mask policy’

West Jet is implementing new rules that could have passengers banned for a year from traveling with the airline if they refuse to wear a face mask. The airline is launching its zero-tolerance mask policy on September 1, outlining the potential outcomes for passengers who elect not to wear a mask. 

The airline shared that passengers who do not comply will not be able to board the aircraft, and those that decide to take off their mask during a flight will result in the plane’s return to the gate, and the passenger will be removed.
